ACONCAGUA REGION

ALENTEJO

ALOXE-CORTON
Just like Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, the round hills of Aloxe-Corton are perfect for viticulture. In this region almost exclusively red wines are made. White wines from this region are very rare.
ALTO ADIGE
Alto Adige – or Süd-Tirol – belonged to Austria until the First World War. You can tell by everything. German is still spoken and wine is made from ‘Austrian grapes’ such as Weissburgunder, Blauburger, Gewürztraminer and Müller-thurgau.
AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA
The Amarone della Valpolicella has an impeccable reputation. The special thing about this wine is that the grapes are dried for a minimum of 4 months after the harvest. An exceptionally concentrated wine is then made from the dried grapes.
ANDLAU
Andlau is located in Alsace. It is a typical traditional village focused on tourism and viticulture. Andlau has only 86 hectares of vineyards in a narrow valley. Geology is quite complex and the three Grand Crus have a different style.
BANDOL
Bandol is a wine region located along the east coast of Marseille and Cassis. It is internationally one of the most recognized regions of Provence where delicious wine is made. The Bandol AOC consists of 8 municipalities.
BANYULS
Banyuls is a wine region in southern France located near the Mediterranean Sea. A well-known sweet wine (vin doux naturels) is produced in this region. The wines that are made are whole. The young wines look like port or madeira.
BARBERA D'ALBA
Around the city of Alba in Piedmont there are a number of DOCs where very good wines are made. One of these areas is Barbera d’Alba. From the name we can immediately derive that the wines are made from the Barbera grape.
BARBERA D'ASTI
The Barbera d’Asti wine comes from the area around the city of Asti. Five varieties of this wine are produced in this area, each with its own rules, namely the (ordinary) Barbera d ‘Asti, Barbera d’ Asti Superiore
BARDOLINO
The Bardolino wine is a fruity, dry and fresh red wine. It is a wine with a long history made from grapes from vineyards around the city of Bardolino. The grapes used are typical Italian grapes such as the Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and Rossignol.
BAROLO
Barolo wine is without a doubt the best appellation in Italy. The best Barolo wine perfectly expresses the elegance of the nebbiolo. The best vineyards are sometimes on fairly steep slopes and are surrounded by the hills of the Langhe.
BOLGHERI
Bolgheri is a wine village in Tuscany where red, white and rosé wines are made. A large variety of grapes has been planted around the village. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc have been planted for the red wines.
BONNEZEAUX
Bonnezeaux is, together with Quarts de Chaume and Coteaux du Layon, the best known area for beautiful sweet Loire wines. Made from the Chenin Blanc grape, with “pourriture noble” – grapes dried by noble rot.
BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR
Many people think that Bordeaux Supérieur is a sub-category of the general Bordeaux appellation, while it is a unique appellation for both white and red wines. The red Bordeaux Supérieurs have a slightly higher alcohol percentage
BOURGUEIL
Bourgueil is a wine region that is in the south of the Loire. It is a popular region because the villages are very beautiful and cozy. The wine region is narrow and runs west along the Loire River.

Brouilly is the southernmost crus of the Beaujolais. A crus is a wine village that is allowed to conduct its own appellation because they have proven their quality and individuality. Brouilly is a medium-sized village
BURGENLAND
Burgenland is a wine region in Austria with surprising versatility. It has a wide arsenal of quality wines ranging from fresh, crispy to full-bodied white wines, powerful red wines and – which is unfortunately not often known – beautiful noble sweet wines.
CACHAPOAL VALLEY
The Cachapoal Valley offers spicy aristocratic wines, from cepages such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and an excellent Carmenere, reminiscent of chocolate and strawberry marmalade.
CADILLLAC
Cadillac is a village just below Bordeaux in the South West of France. The village has gained fame through the production of white wines with grapes with Botrytis. The drop is on the Garonne along with the other wine villages Cerons and Loupiac.
CALABRIA
Calabria is an unknown and small wine region in the south of Italy. The region is poor and is not yet able to make wine that becomes more widely known. The vineyards are on hot and steep mountain slopes. In itself it should succeed to deliver more quality.
CAMPO DE BORJA
Red wines bursting with alcohol are the specialty of this wine region. The wines consist for the most part of garnacha and must have an alcohol percentage of at least 13% to meet the DO requirements. In this wine region,

CHABLIS

CHÂTEAU GRILLET
Château Grillet is a small AOC of only 4 hectares. The wine region is actually part of the large Condrieu. The vineyards are like terraces on the hill so that they are protected from the wind.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an appellation from the Rhône valley. The wines from this area have an impeccable reputation. The name Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes from a famous French wine village on the banks of the Rhone.
CHIANTI CLASSICO
Chianti is the name of the hills between Florence and Siena. The Chianti ClassicoDOCG is the traditional heart of this wine region. Chianti Classico has the highest Italian DOCG classification since 2002.

Cigales is a small, sleepy town that is dominated by a beautiful church on a small, leafy square and surrounded by dry fields where crazy chimneys protrude here and there. These chimneys are air ducts for the cellars,
CLAIRETTE DE DIE
Clairette de Die is a sparkling wine from the southern French Rhone region. Against the imposing foothills of the Alps and in the valley of the river Drôme, lie the magnificent vineyards of the Clairette de Die.
CONDRIEU
Condrieu, about 40 km south of Lyon on the right bank of the Rhone, is the most important source of white wine in the northern Rhône. The wines that come from here are always made from 100% viognier.
COONAWARRA
Just south of Padthaway is an area that everyone was immediately enthusiastic about. The unique combination of a cool climate and the terra rossa soil is undoubtedly responsible for the good quality of the wines that come from this area.

Cornas is a special wine region within the Rhone Valley. It is also called the black sheep of the region. The fact is that the wines from Cornas in the 18th century had a very good reputation.
COSTIÈRES DE NIMES

COTEAUX DU TRICASTIN
The AOC Coteaux du Tricastin is located in the Drôme department between the towns of Montélimar, Gragnan and Suze-la-Rousse. It is located on the left bank of the Rhône. The harvest falls between mid-September and mid-October.
CÔTES DE CASTILLON
Côtes de Castillon is an appellation that is now becoming very popular as a testing ground for the large and well-known winemakers in the Saint-Emilion. The quality was already high, and with this it gets better and better,
COTES DU LUBERON
Cotes du Luberon is similar to the AOC Cotes du Ventoux. The area consists of 4000 hectares of vineyard. The vineyards are beautifully situated in and on the hill surrounded by Lavender and characteristic Provencal villages.
CÔTES DU RHÔNE
After Bordeaux, Côtes du Rhône is the largest wine region with no less than 35,000 hectares of vineyards. Mainly red wines (95%) are produced. The differences in soil, microclimate and grape varieties give great diversity in the wines.
CÔTES DU VENTOUX
The AOC Côtes du Ventoux is located in the eastern Rhone region in the department of Vaucluse. It is located in the vicinity of the towns of Carpentras, Apt, Pernes-les-Fontaines and Malaucène and Mont Ventoux (the giant of Provence).
CÔTES DU VIVARAIS
The AOC area Côtes du Vivarais is situated on the border of the Rhône valley and the Cevennes. It is located in the Ardèche department. In the past, only table wines were made here because of the high production per hectare.
CREMANT DE BOURGOGNE
Cremant de Bourgogne is one of the best sparkling wines in the world. The wine has a high quality and a very nice advantage that the prices of these wines are very attractive.
CREMANT DE LOIRE
Crémant is sparkling wine from France and other French-speaking areas. Those from the Loire Valley are called Crémant de Loire. The wine is made according to the method traditionnelle.
CROZES HERMITAGE
Crozes-Hermitage is a wine-growing region in the Rhône, named after the village of the same name. AOC in 1937 for red and white wine. The vines grow on the left bank of the river.
CURICÓ VALLEY
The landscape is divided into three clearly marked strips: the great mountain range of the Andes, the plain in the middle and the mountain range on the coast. The vineyards are mainly on the plain and on the slopes on the coast.
THE BEAUJOLAIS
The Beaujolais is known to many for its Beaujolais scoop. A pity, because the Beaujolais has much more to offer than this easy-to-drink wine. The wines of the Beaujolais distinguish four levels,
BURGUNDY
Burgundy, together with Bordeaux, is the most famous wine region in France and the world. Burgundy produces red and white wines that belong to the absolute top of the world. Pinot Noir is mainly used for red wine.
ALSACE
Alsace is a wine region with its own identity. Characteristics for the wines are that they almost all consist of one grape variety. That is now something we see all over the world, but traditionally this was characteristic of this region.
DOURO
The Douro wine region is best known in Portugal. First of course because Port comes from here. However, there are also very good other non-fortified wines. Port still dominates, but the same wines are used to make great wines
ELGIN
Elgin is one of the newest wine regions in South Africa. This area has been chosen as a result of the trend to grow grapes for wine in cooler areas. Elgin could become a good region for wines from grapes
ENTRE-DEUX-MERS
Entre-Deux-Mers is a wine region in France between the two rivers Dordogne and Garonne. The name ‘Entre-Deux-Mers’ literally means ‘between two seas’, which probably stems from the fact that the ebb

JULIÉNAS
Juliénas is part of the Mâconnais on the border of the Saône and Loire and is therefore part of the Beaujolais. The village is small, has around 800 inhabitants and is around 15 km from Mâcon and 60 km from Lyon. The viticulture is old and the history
LA RIOJA
In the northwest of Argentina we find La Rioja, a relatively prosperous province. Like most Argentinian wine regions with a strong reputation, La Rioja is located on the Andes.
LALANDE DE POMEROL
Lalande-de-Pomerol is located in the same area as the famous and larger Pomerol. The two areas are only separated by a narrow river Barbanne. It is a municipality in the French department of Gironde and has 614 inhabitants.
LANGHE
De Langhe, together with the Monferrato and the Roero, forms the heart of Piedmont. It is the most important area of origin of the culinary tradition of Piedmont, the world famous Piedmontese cuisine.
LANGUEDOC
This area was formerly called the wine shed of France, because of the large amount of bad wines that were made there. Since the 70s, the quantity has fallen and the level has risen. The area is still developing positively.
LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON
The Languedoc – Roussillon stretches from the Rhone to the Spanish border and is therefore five times as large as the Australian wine area. The area is exceptionally diverse geographically and geologically:
LIRAC
An appellation that extends across 3 municipalities in the Gard (Lirac, Saint Laurent des Arbes and Roquemaure). Viticulture has been found here for 2000 years, especially around the old town of Roquemaure.
LUGANA
The Lugana wine region should not be confused with Lake Lugano. The region is in fact located at another famous water: Lake Garda. The Doc Lugana is located exactly south of Lake Garda
MACONIA
Mâconnais is a wine-growing region in France, located to the west and northwest of the city of Mâcon on the banks of the River Saône. it covers an area of 50 by 15 km. The wine-growing region has parallel hills that run from North to South.
MAIPO VALLEY
The Maipo Valley is the area with the longest wine-growing tradition in Chile. The valley lies across the country, from the Andes Mountains in the southern direction to the Pacific Ocean.
MARGAUX
Margaux, one of the largest appellations in Médoc, is world famous. No less than 1400 hectares are planted in the villages of Arsac, Labarde, Cantenac, Soussans and Maurgaux itself.
MARLBOROUGH
Marlborough is the most famous wine region of New Zealand. World-famous wines are made here from Sauvignon Blanc. The climate and conditions seem to be made for the making of wines from this grape.
MAULE VALLEY
The Maule Valley covers around 30% of the total wine area in Chile, making it the largest wine-producing region in the country. This area forms a wide, longitudinally located valley with rolling hills,

Vineyards in the desert? Sounds unlikely. Yet the dusty wine region of Mendoza produces around 70 percent of all Argentinian wine. The warm and dry climate of this wine region lends itself exceptionally well to viticulture.
MEURSAULT WINE
Meursault wine is counted among the top of the white burgundy wines. The vineyards around the village of Meursault produce quality wines that are rich but at the same time very refreshing.

The municipality of Montagny, with its own designation of origin, can be found in the Côte Chalonnaise, from which Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey and Givry also come. It is the southernmost municipality of Burgundy.

ROERO
The Roero is one of the most important wine regions of Piedmont. Very beautiful white and red wines are made from it. The area is characterized by the sandy soils where besides grapes also a lot of vegetables and fruit is grown.
ROSSO DI MONTALCINO
Rosso di Montalcino is often seen as the affordable variant of Brunello di Montalcino. The Rosso di Montalcino, just like the Brunello, is made from the Sangiovese grosso Brunello grapes.
RUEDA
Rueda wine is known for its fresh aroma and taste. This has everything to do with the Verdejo grape which is the most prominent in the entire region. Soft, fresh and aromatic wines with firmness
SAINT CHINIAN
Saint Chinian is a beautiful hilly and green region where the most beautiful AOC wines are produced. Here the typical Languedoc climate prevails. This ensures warm, dry summers with lots of sun and wind.
SAINT EMILION GRAND CRU
The Saint Emilion is without a doubt one of the most renowned wine regions in the world. The grape variety that is mainly used in the Saint Emilion is the Merlot. This creates wines with a velvety character
SAINT JOSEPH
Red and white wines are made in Saint-Joseph. The region is less well-known than the surrounding regions, but good red wines are made. The red wines are of course made from Syrah. The wines have the aroma of black currants.
SAINT-PÉRAY
The vineyard extends over two municipalities, Saint-Péray and Toulaud in the Ardèche department. It is located on the right bank of the Rhône. The AOC Saint-Péray applies to both white wines and sparkling wines.
SALTA
With its elevated position in the middle of the Andes and regular earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, the Salta wine region does not offer the most exemplary conditions for cultivating wine.
SAN JUAN
In the northwest of Argentina lies the moon-like landscape of San Juan. This mountainous province at the foot of the Andes is after Mendoza the most important wine region of the country.
SANCERRE WINE
Sancerre is best known for its beautiful dry white wines. The Sancerre wine region is located on the banks of the Loire River. The area is famous for its delicious fresh wines from the Sauvignon blanc.
SANTENAY
Santenay is a prestigious wine region in Burgundy. Ninety percent of the wine from this area is red and made from the Pinot Noir grape. It is the southernmost red wine from the Côte de Beaune.
SAUMUR
The red wines and rosés from Anjou-Saumur. The red wines, made from Cabernet Franc and Gamay grapes, bear the names Anjou, Saumur and Saumur-Champigny. The rosés of Anjou-Saumur,
SAUTERNES
Sauternes and Barsac are two wine regions in the south of the Graves in Bordeaux. Delicious exclusive sweet white wines are produced in these areas. The wines here are made from the Sémillon and Sauvignon blanc
SAVENNIÈRES
The Savennières appellation is located on the banks of the Loire, on the lower reaches of the Angers. Savennières actually loves discretion. Yet it is the undisputed wine pearl of the right bank of the Loire.
SOAVE
Soave is the most important white-wine DOC of the Italy and comes from an area in the east of the city of Verona. The wine is produced with the Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc wines.
TAVEL
The vineyards are located on the territory of the municipality of Tavel, on the right bank of the Rhone. The designation of origin Tavel has given its name to a rose, “La Rose de Tavel”, which is a true ambassador of the “first rosé wine of France”.
TERRA ALTA
Terra Alta is located in the southernmost part of the interior of Cataluyna. For more than 1000 years, wine production has been linked to this region where there is a unique way of life among the small population.
TOKAJI
Tokaji is a town in the Northern Hungary region. It is located 44 km east of Miskolc and only 65 km from the Ukrainian border, amidst low hills (domb) where the vines climb over.
TOURAINE
The best red Loire wines come from the Touraine wine region. They are fresh and usually made from Cabernet Franc or from the lesser-known Breton grape. characteristic of the wines is that they are light
TUCUMAN
Tucu’man is a wine region that lies in the north of Arnetinia. Only Salta is slightly above this wine region. The most important grapes that are planted are Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tannat, Bonarda and Torrontés.
VACQUEYRAS
Vacqueyras is a dreamy village in the Vaucluse, east of Orange. The village is proud of the troubadour Raimbaut, who conquered France hundreds of years ago from Vacqueyras.
VALDEOR RACE
Valdeorras is one of the smaller and lesser-known wine regions of Spain. It is located in Galicia in the north-west of the country, between the more famous DOs of Rias Baixas and Bierzo.
VALDEPENAS
Valdepenas is the outpost in the far south of the large La Macha region. However, the wines deserve a separate DO and the producers have managed to get through the foreign market sooner than their northern neighbors.
VALPOLICELLA WINES
Valpolicella has been a famous wine region since Roman times. In the DOC Valpolicella, four different types of wine can be made from corvina grapes, molinara grapes, and rondinella grapes.
VALTELLINA
The Valtellina wine region is located in Lombardy, north-east of the famous Lake Como. The Valtellina valley is protected by the Alps against the cool north wind. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 300-700 m.
VINHO VERDE
Vinho Verde is a beautiful wine region in the north of Portugal. If you look at surface, it is one of the largest DOCs and produces exceptional wines. The name Vinho Verde means ‘green wine’.
VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO
The Village of Montepulciano is literally anchored on the hill and acquired an excellent reputation for its red wines, which were labeled as the most perfect wines of Italy under Pope Paul II and Sixtus V.
SOUTHERN VALLEYS
Other valleys in which wine-growing takes place are for example the Itata and the Bío-Bío in the southern region. The Itata Valley offers a semi-moist Mediterranean climate with an annual rainfall of between 650-700 millimeters.
Barbera d’Asti
The Barbera d’Asti wine comes from the area around the city of Asti. Five varieties of this wine are produced in this area, each with its own rules, namely the (ordinary) Barbera d ’Asti, Barbera d’ Asti Superiore and three sub-variants
Barolo
Barolo wine is without a doubt the best appellation in Italy. The best Barolo wine perfectly expresses the elegance of the nebbiolo. The best vineyards are sometimes on steep slopes and are surrounded by the hills of the Langhe
