Roero
The Roero is one of the most important wine regions of Piedmont.
Very beautiful white and red wines are made from it. The area is characterized by the sandy soils where besides grapes also a lot of vegetables and fruit is grown. The white wines are made from Arneis and the red wines from the vast majority of Nebbiolo.
The Arneis
The most important grape variety from Roero is the Arneis. This white grape variety is also called the “white Nebbiolo”. That certainly says something about the potential of the grape. Really beautiful and large white wines can be made from it. It’s just not an easy grape. The Arneis is only grown on the sandy soils of Roero and Langhe.
