Costières de Nimes
The Costières de Nimes vineyard is located in southern France
In the Gard department, north of the Camargues, southeast of Nimes. The wine region is located on the right bank of the Rhone on the hills of 24 municipalities. The vineyard has an area of 12,000 hectares and is approximately 60 kilometers long and 20 kilometers wide. The Appellation Costières de Nimes belongs to the vineyards of the Rhône Valley. However, this AOC used to be assigned to the Languedoc. In the past, and even now, a lot of bulk wine is produced that has a bad name. The quality of the wines generally falls short. They are therefore much less expensive than the comparable wines from the neighboring Côtes du Rhône.
