The Côte Rôtie, with its sun-drenched slopes, produces a warm, robust, aromatic and richly colored red wine. Slightly rough and dark in their early years, these wines become softer and develop a beautiful bouquet (of violets and raspberries) as they age. The production is dominated by two grape varieties: Viognier and Syrah. The wines of the Côte Rôtie are considered the best Côtes du Rhône.
The vineyard extends over 3 municipalities: Saint-Cyr-sur-Rhône, Ampuis, Tupin-Semons, on the right bank of the Rhone. The vineyards are located in the Rhône department on very steep slopes that face south and southwest. The Côte-Rôtie is divided into the Côte brune, Côte blonde and Côte rosier.
