Cremant de Loire
Crémant is sparkling wine from France and other French-speaking areas.
Those from the Loire Valley are called Crémant de Loire. The wine is made according to the method traditionally. The production method is, apart from a few details, completely the same as in Champagne. The grape varieties used are different, although chardonnay and pinot-noir are also permitted in Crémant de Loire. Since 1989, the term crémant has been protected by French law. Due to confusion with champagne, this designation is no longer permitted outside the champagne area. Nor can the term crémant be used in the champagne region.
