The wines of Gevrey-Chambertin show the quality of the Cote de Nuits in a special way.
Without debate they belong to the best Pinot Noir wines in the world. The aromas of the wines are reminiscent of plums, game and chocolate. It is important to make a distinction between the Grand Crus and the regular municipal wines. They are fine wines but they do not achieve the renowned high quality.
Terroir
The rich soil and the special location ensure the terroir of the vineyards. The hilly landscape offers a good balance between protection and exposure to wind and sun. They are both needed. The soil and location are therefore perfect for the growth and beautiful maturation of the Pinot Noir.
