Gigondas
Gigondas is often undervalued as a wine region.
A number of large wines are produced in the Gigondas. The prices of Gigondas wine have risen but you still get value for money. In addition, the Gigondas is one of the most beautiful wine regions in the Rhône Valley.
The Gigondas wine region
Just like Vaqueyras, Gigondas lies in the shadow of the Denetelles de Montmirail. At about 100 meters, the village of Gigondas is glued to the slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The wines of Gigondas
The wines from Gigondas are powerful, full-bodied wines, dominated by the Grenach grape. A maximum of 80% may be used. In addition, there may be a maximum of 15% of syrah, mourvedre. In addition to the aforementioned grapes, the wine may consist of 10% juice from clairette, picpoul, terret noir, picardan, cinsault, rousanne, marsanne, bourboulenc, viohnier, counoise, muscardin. History of the Gigondas
Gigondas has been part of the Cru’s of the Rhône since 1971. The wine is famous all over the world as wild wine, but also works well with beef stews and other flavored dishes.
