Rosso di Montalcino

Rosso di Montalcino is often seen as the affordable variant of Brunello di Montalcino.

The Rosso di Montalcino, just like the Brunello, is made from the Sangiovese grosso Brunello grapes. The wines are less heavy than the larger and heavier brother Brunello. Just make no mistake. There are very good and beautiful wines in between!

Sangiovese

Sangiovese grapes are not known for the many fruits. The grape is characterized by the high content of acids and tannins. In addition, the juice does not contain much sugar and alcohol. As a last characteristic, the taste is quite earthy. The result is that a traditional Sangiovese wine is dry and has a high content of tannins. The wines are also not very complex. The aroma of the wine always contains notes of cherries and herbs. Mushroom tones are also often observed. Because of the high content of acid and tannin, the wines are often good.
