Ninety percent of the wine from this area is red and made from the Pinot Noir grape. It is the southernmost red wine from the Côte de Beaune. In the taste and smell, the wines have blackcurrants and cherries, but also more rustic scents. Santenay can have a very thorough taste. True gourmet wines for the good, “Burgundian” life. The premier cru wines come from the better vineyards of this area and have more strength and concentration.
